Hello! I am Katy, and I’m a passionate, supportive, Madriella trained and Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator. I am based in central Illinois, where I live with my husband and our three (almost 4) little ones!
My journey into the birth world comes from having diverse and beautiful birth experiences with my own children, and working with multiple doulas has truly inspired me to pursue this path of supporting other women.
As a child I had always been fascinated by pregnancy, birth and newborns. I attended Illinois State University to become an Early Childhood Education Teacher with an Endorsement in Special Education but I had quickly realized after falling pregnant with my first child that my love was really in women’s health. I decided to switch paths and pursue an education in nursing at Heartland Community College where I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I had the desire to work in labor and delivery but as I bore and birthed two more children I knew I wanted to be the one holding the woman’s hand through her pregnancy, labor and postpartum period and I discovered the Doula profession!
I believe that every woman’s birth experience is unique and personal, and I strive to meet each woman where she is in her journey.
When I’m not supporting expectant families, you’ll often find me researching and learning more about birth, always eager to expand my knowledge and deepen my understanding of the birth process. My mission as a doula is simple: to provide women with an empowering, supportive, and informed birth experience that leaves them feeling strong, confident, and connected to their bodies.
